At African Moto Adventures, the safety, confidence, and experience of our riders is always our top priority. With ongoing global news coverage surrounding the situation in Iran and the wider Middle East, we understand that some of our guests may have questions about how this could impact upcoming tours.
Our Current Position
First and foremost, we want to reassure you:
None of our tours are currently affected by the events in the Middle East
All itineraries across Southern and Eastern Africa are operating exactly as planned
There are no disruptions to routes, borders, or logistics within our tour regions
Our destinations remain stable, safe, and fully open to tourism
Our tours take place in countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and beyond — regions that are geographically and politically separate from the current situation in Iran. There is no direct impact on travel infrastructure, airspace relevant to our routes, or on-the-ground conditions within our operating areas.
We are continuing to run all scheduled departures with full confidence.
How We Monitor Global Events & Keep You Safe
While there is no current impact, we take global developments seriously and continuously monitor the situation. We don’t take a reactive approach — we stay ahead of potential risks so you don’t have to.
Here’s how we do that:
Government Travel Advice (FCDO)
We closely monitor guidance from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. This ensures our decisions align with official, up-to-date government recommendations.
Local Government & Regional Intelligence
Our in-country teams and partners provide real-time updates from within each destination. This gives us a ground-level understanding of any changes, however small.
Global Rescue Partnership
We work alongside Global Rescue, a leading provider of travel risk management and emergency response services. Their intelligence network provides:
Real-time security updates
Risk assessments specific to our locations
Evacuation and emergency planning support
On-the-Ground Tour Leaders
Our experienced guides are constantly assessing conditions throughout each tour. Their training in safety, first aid, and emergency response ensures they are prepared for any situation.
This layered approach allows us to make informed, measured decisions — always with your safety and experience in mind.
If Plans Ever Needed to Change
While there is no current disruption, it’s important to understand how we would handle any situation that did require adjustments.
In line with our Terms & Conditions, we operate with flexibility and fairness:
Tours will only be altered if absolutely necessary due to events outside our control (such as political unrest or force majeure situations)
If changes are required, we will:
Inform you as early as possible
Offer alternative routes, dates, or experiences of similar value
Work with you directly to find the best possible outcome
You may have options such as:
Continuing with an adjusted itinerary
Transferring to another tour within a suitable timeframe
Accepting an alternative of equal value
We always aim to minimise disruption and maximise your experience, even in changing circumstances
It’s also worth noting:
Our tours operate under a Guaranteed Departure Policy, meaning we do not cancel due to low numbers
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation cover, to give you additional peace of mind.
Your Right to Cancel & What That Looks Like
We understand that global events can influence personal decisions around travel, even if they don’t directly impact the tour itself. If you decide you no longer wish to travel, your booking remains subject to our standard cancellation terms.
In simple terms:
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking
Cancellations made:
More than 90 days before departure: refund available minus a 30% charge
Between 90–60 days: refund available minus 70% of the total tour cost
Less than 60 days before departure: no refunds apply
In some cases, we may be able to:
Transfer your booking to another tour within a 12-month period (subject to availability)
Apply a rescheduling option, though fees may apply
Any refunds are also subject to costs already committed to third-party suppliers such as hotels and activity providers
We always encourage open communication — if you’re unsure or considering changes, speak to us early and we’ll do our best to help find a workable solution.
Looking Ahead
Right now, it’s business as usual — and that’s exactly how we intend to keep it.
Our tours are running as scheduled
Our teams are on the ground and fully operational
Our riders are continuing to experience Africa at its absolute best
We remain vigilant, informed, and prepared — but also confident in the destinations we operate in.
Final Word
Travel is about adventure, exploration, and stepping into the unknown — but it should always feel secure and well-managed behind the scenes.
At African Moto Adventures, that’s exactly what we deliver.
Right now, all tours are operating as planned. And if anything were to change — you will be the first to know.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your upcoming tour, our team is always here to help.
We look forward to riding with you.
